Living Vintage
A chance discovery of vinatge silk screens resting in the raftersof Brooklyn printing factory sparked the imagination of designer and showroom owner Analisse Taft. The screens, featuring whimsical and modern mid-century designs, inspired her to create "Living Vintage," her debut collection for ALT for Living.
It was on this day, as Analisse looked up to see the bundles of screens covered in years of dust and cobwebs, that she realized in this fast-paced world, somtimes slowing down to discover the past is the best inspiration of all.
Ranging from bold opt-art prints to playful paisleys and florals, many of the screens are rumored as having been originally created for apparel and bedding patterns for iconic department stores from a forgotten era. Analisse has adapted their nastalgic style to use on upholstery weight linens ans silks, giving the rescued and recycled designs her own stylish toucu via a twist of modern day color.
"Though my showroom represents the best in contemporary designs, I have always held a deep respect for pieces with an intriguing history. For me, finding these silk screens felt much like unearthing lost treasure. One by one as they revealed themselves, my heart melted for them. I knew right then my first collection for ALT for Living would honor these "lost souls" of design and help bring vintage back to life." - Analisse Taft
