Joe Lucas and Parrish Chilcoat started Lucas Studio, Inc. their high end residential interior design firm in 2005 and added Harbinger, their retail showroom, to their growing business in 2008. Joe and Parrish met in 2002 while working for acclaimed Los Angeles designer Michael Smith.

Lucas Studio Inc, the boutique, high end interior design arm of the company is dedicated to providing stylish, comfortable and classic interiors. Traditional Home magazine named Lucas Studio, Inc. one of the “Top 20 Young Design Firms to Watch” in April 2009. House Beautiful magazine recognized Lucas Studio, Inc. as one of their American Design Trailblazers in 2011. Lucas Studio, Inc. has completed residential projects in locations ranging from Florida to Montana to several houses in Rumson, Little Silver and Bay Head, NJ. Current residential projects are located in Chicago, New Jersey and throughout the Los Angeles area.
 

In 2008 when Joe and Parrish opened “Harbinger”, initially just a retail shop, it showcased trend-resistant finds like slipper chairs, pedestal tables, gilded frames and throw pillows while mixing in edgier pieces such as acrylic bookshelves and modern art.

In 2009 Harbinger was expanded to include a new showroom to the trade representing an array of chic fabrics and wallpapers from designers throughout the United States, Milan and London, as well as some new reproduction furniture pieces from the Harbinger collection.

September 2011 – marks a big milestone for Joe and Parrish - Harbinger and Lucas Studio, Inc moved to a greatly expanded retail location on famed La Cienega Blvd. Holland and Sherry will be featuring their atelier at Harbinger, a permanent showroom within a showroom, offering their full range of beautiful fabrics, wallpapers, carpets and furniture.

Lucas Studio, Inc. & Harbinger have been featured in House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Elle Décor, Veranda, Luxe Magazine, the LA Times, Angeleno, Angeleno Interiors, Wired, Design NJ, and several ‘green’ publications, including the book “Dreaming Green” for their work on the David Hertz property and the Wired Living Home Showcase House.

Joe and Parrish were honored to be part of Veranda Magazine’s first California Show House “The Great House at Historic Greystone Estate” in November 2008, the “Stately Homes by the Sea” Show House in Rumson, NJ in May 2009 and the Traditional Home Hamptons Design Show House in the Summer of 2010.
